Death Dance
by Ion

On the floor,
On the stage,
On show.

We are all naked, bare.
What you have,
What you achieved is there.

Facing the public, facing your life,
Your education, your equities mean nothing.

Deaths dance the dance macabre.

In the heat of battle,
Facing your foes,
With a spear in your hands.
Your wealth,
Your status means nothing.

Deaths dance the dance macabre.

Facing your maker, staring him down.
Material accumulation is worthless.

Deaths dance the dance macabre.
