Perchance to Sleep
by Kevin Michael Anderson

when i close my eyes at night
to leave the waking world
an opalescent sphere is all i see.

shinning from within
milky mirrored glinting glare
rainbow hewed and cosmos bright

to pierce beneath the surface
and grasp that inner light
while my own reflection i do not perceive

i cannot touch that spark
the universe does speak
from the either from whence it came

a symbol
from dream to body
impregnate

Agave the fire god does speak
warrior shaman healer all
to watch protect revenge and heal

come forth
to pierce this body
transform in holy flame

unite the two halves
as one
a circle joined complete

Author Note : I was trying to sleep the other night, but instead dreamed of a pearl.
