The Lunar Butterfly
by Nicole Votta
He kisses the lake again
He kisses the undine prince again
The undine prince sings of love and faith
Streaming hair and song
'Come with me to the places beneath
the water and there will be no one
who you will love so well. The moons will
not outshine the splendor of your crown
and your despair will wax and wane in
cycles. I will make your eyes violet
as mine and they will call you my brother and
there will be none you will love so well.
Your soul will wax and wane in cycles;
come with me.'
He kneels, violet eyed
And kisses the undine prince again
