Storm Constantine News Updates
by Wendy Darling
While most Storm fans are probably aware of at least some of
the many developments going on -- from the new
Wraeththu novel to Grissecon to re-issues
of old novels -- I Inception thought it would be a cool idea
to do a bit of compilation so everyone could see a lot of the
news at once! Would want to miss something important, would we?
The Wraiths of Will
& Pleasure
Wraiths,
first book in Storm's Wraeththu Histories (a new trilogy!)
is set to come out in early May 2003 via U.S. publisher Tor
Books. The book should be in U.S. bookstores and if it's not
coming to yours, tell them to order it or, better yet, order a
heap of them :)
The book is already available
on Amazon.com and Barnes
& Noble for pre-order (or shortly after this zine goes
to press, outright purchase).
BTW, Storm herself is shipping out nearly 100 copies to Wraeththu
fans who pre-ordered signed copies, mainly because they are in
the U.K. where the book would only be available as an import,
if at all. (Note: No further orders are being accepted.)

Grissecon Fan Fic Contest
As announced on Storm's mailing list, the winner of the Grissecon
Wraeththu fan fiction contest was Wendy Darling. The theme of
the contest was "Grissecon: "Like Gods, like angels; pure fire,
nothing else." Wendy's story, "The First," will appear in the
official Grissecon program book. Other
contest entries, plus a few extra submissions and artwork (cover
by Ruby, addition art by Deb Clarke) will be appearing in Writers
of the Storm.
Writers of the Storm
Addie Fielding has taken it upon herself to lead an effort at
getting a Wraeththu fan fiction book published -- with an ISBN
number and everything! Writers of the Storm will feature stories
sent in to the Grissecon fan fiction contest
as well as possibly some additional stories and artwork. The book
will be available in time for the Grissecon
convention. More info: addief@usermail.com.
Immanion Press
Storm
is in the beginning stages of setting up her own self-publishing
venture called Immanion Press. Among the first projects will be
the publication of a newly
edited The Enchantments of Flesh and Spirit (review
here), hopefully in time for Grissecon!
Storm has quite a few additional projects in mind to publish,
mainly projects which she had more faith in that publishers seem
to. This includes re-issues of Bewitchments and Fulfilments
(like Enchantments, edited) as well as Wraeththu fan fiction,
Wraeththu-based magic (Dehara), and more. Look for updates on
Storm's web site
and the Stormboard.
Publishing News
Storm continues to have the support of publishers Meisha
Merlin and Stark House to put some of her harder-to-find books
back in print. (And of course, Wraiths
is coming out new!) The latest successes:
- The Thorn Boy and Other Dreams of Dark Desire
Stark House Press has very recently released a new press of
the formerly incredibly-hard-to-find novella The Thorn
Boy, putting it out as The
Thorn Boy and Other Dreams of Dark Desire. Besides the
novella, the new printing includes half a dozen Magravandias
tales -- an extra treat!
- Hermetech
U.S. publisher Meisha
Merlin will soon be releasing a spanking new press of Hermetech!
- Burying the Shadow
Meisha
Merlin put out a new press of Burying the Shadow
last year.
