A Gorgeous System
by Aidan Grey

Grimorie Dehara,
Book One: Kaimana
by Storm Constantine

Author & Book Information:

In case any of you fellow fans haven't heard, the Dehara described in the latter trilogy have a magic system of their very own. Recently, Immanion Press published the Grimoire Dehara: Book One - Kaimana, and I'm here to tell you to go get it NOW!

Starting with a short and simple introduction to the Wraeththu Mythos, the Grimoire leads you gently through Ara, Neoma, and Brynie. Along the way, you learn about using agmara, how to build your nayati, and submitting yourself to harhune and feybraiha. Then our favorite author goes on to describe the Dehara, their symbols and nayati, and how to contact them.

For the more pagan inclined (and what fan isn't?), Storm then provides a detailed description of the Wheel of Arotahar, the Wraeththu seasonal cycle, and the Dehara involved. With arojhahns (rituals) for each celebration, a complete spiritual practice can be easily developed.

Returning to its source, as a magical tradition, there are also plenty of spells, or majhahns, for some common needs. With details on creating your own symbols and Dehara, it's even a good introduction to chaos magic, though with an obvious Wraeththu bias. This is a good thing.

All of that is a fantastic reason to buy this book. But the thing that inspired me the most - the book is gorgeous, lavishly illustrated by Olga Bosserdt with images of the Dehar suitable for framing and placing on your altar. It is hardbound, with a sturdy bind and a simple, beautiful cover. Just on materials alone, it's a far more elegant book than any other Pagan publication I've ever seen, and together with the material within - you won't be disappointed.

I ordered my copy through Barnes & Noble, and it took two impatient, check the mail obsessively, weeks to arrive. The suspense and anticipation is well worth it, and any fan, pagan, or mage would be well advised to keep this jewel in their library.

So, when do the other two come out? ;)
