Lie
by Adam Ritchie

Mouth a lie
So cold
Like honed steel
A blade to cut apart the truth
Your eyes don’t even give you way
Like it’s so easy
To believe its all ok
So easy to say
You dream you feel
That you’re still alive

Resurrected under the bitter sun
So cold and distant
Frozen in time
It’s trapped with in your memory
Locked far away
Forever more
To lie only within your heart

Scarred and broken
Underneath that spring moon
Bitter longing for something more
Is all that fills this space?
Where honest love once embraced
