Thief
by steviebomb

Darkness fell upon the land,
Yet the orange moon hung heavy over the old barn.
The wind blew from all directions at once
And the weather vane turned.

A dim glow hung over the city as muffled voices ran together.
No one seemed to care anymore.
And the stone gargoyle wept.

He looked at children through the clouds knowing each will be judged.
He casts a light unseen by most
And upon his shoulders is life.

The barn doors swung open as the earth shivered in its emptiness.
The trees swayed hypnotically
And the deep colored cat spoke.

The hands on the old clock had stopped and silence fell on them all.
Horror, serenity and confusion swirled about.
And the vision was made all too clear.

Everything was made right in His eyes.
The Earth was at rest now.
It was time to begin anew.
And the sea crashed carelessly upon the shore.
